Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can look forward to finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
