Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the area, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Impact
Homeowners observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also faced energy failures after the capital city experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received 598 emergency reports across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.
