A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
